This wasn't my rooster. You will have to use the contact info provided in the post to contact the organization he was at. I'm sure they have other roosters there in need of homes.

When he saved them, the woman stated that she was going to adopt him. However; she reneged on this promise and left the dog at the shelter to be euthanized/ KILLED...some gratitude, right?
He was given a last minute reprieve when rescue workers from Florida got together with rescue workers from Midwest Animal Rescue Services of Minneapolis, MN...He is now at the shelter in Minneapolis being treated for heartworm disease.
Please someone, give this sweet, brave pit a forever home...he can be seen at:

I just heard about this the other day and I am throughly disgusted. HSUS deserves a lot of credit for exposing Petland. Thank you for spreading the word as well!

I do not mean to suggest that spaying/neutering is any less important to your cat's health than anything else mentioned in this post. In fact, I'm a huge advocate of spay/neuter for many other reasons than just preventing unwanted litters. Regular vet visits are a must, but if I were to recommend anything it would be to spay/neuter you cat. This information was written in the order I received it in a cat health newsletter. I emphasized the health benefits of spaying and neutering in a previous post about pet cancer several days ago. People should keep in mind that cancer in cats is very difficult to treat and nobody should want to risk their animal dying a long, painful death.

I noticed that spay/neuter fell to the very bottom of the preventative care section; last but not least, eh? Even for indoor cats, spay/neuter can be extremely useful because it helps stave off the possibility of particular cancers, lets the girls get on with their lives without going into heat -- not like an indoor cat is going to get some if you're lucky; and outdoor cats it's probably just safer.

I can attest to the regular vet visits. Cats are rather reserved animals and sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a lazy week and straight up lethargy.

Thank you so much for posting this important information! I really appreciate all of the details you included for BOTH domestic and wild animals. In my neighborhood I tend to come across stray dogs far too often and it's good to have some rescue guidelines. Last time we tried to catch a lost dog I actually had to rush back to house to get treats and food while my husband stayed with her. In the end, we found her home (apparently, she had escaped from the yard), but I think I'll be putting together a rescue kit for future stray situations. Your instructions are awesome!

Thanks for getting the word out about this great project. I just discovered your blog and it's awesome! I especially appreciate the "Top Ten Reasons To Adopt A Deaf Dog" that you posted in honor of National Deaf Dog Awareness Week. I am passionate about disabled dogs (I have a tripod and a partially paralyzed dachshund) so I am really grateful for any and all efforts to bring awareness to special needs pups. Recently I created my own list - "Top Ten Reasons To Adopt A Disabled Dog" that I hope you'll check out on my blog:
