North Carolina-9 former research dogs need homes immediately!

Laboratory Animal Resources at the Vet School has 9 dogs available to be adopted out immediately. These dogs have been offered before and we had no takers. These dogs will go to a terminal study if we do not have any takers before May 30th. They would much rather see these dogs, who have given so much to research, go to a good home to live out the rest of their lives but can not keep them here any longer.

Fallon: (Female, Retriever mix, 5 yrs old, I.D. # 79131)

Isabelle (Female, Foxhound, 6 yrs old, I.D.# 83741):

Jacqueline (Female, Beagle, 6 yrs old, I.D. #84522):

April (Female, Lab mix, 6-8 yrs old, I.D.# 61932):

Ikester (Male, Foxhound, 6 yrs old, I.D.# 83740):

Dabney (Female, Small Mongrel, Almost 4 yrs old, I.D.# 96348):

Talley (Female, Small Mongrel, Almost 4 yrs old, I.D.# 96349)

Carter (Male, Med. Mongrel, Almost 4 yrs old, I.D.# 96352):

Doak (Male, Med. Mongrel, Almost 4 yrs old, I.D.# 96354):

Please help these dogs if you can and pass this info along to anyone you know who might be able to help. These dogs have suffered enough and do not deserve to spend the rest of their lives in a laboratory in  “terminal studies.”

If interested in helping these animals, you MUST contact the woman below before May 30th!

  1. NCSU vet school dogs are not in danger

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD that the dogs are in no danger and that they are all in the process of finding homes. I have several friends that work at the vet school and they say that the phones are ringing off the hook.

The News and Observer had an article in yesterday’s paper about the overwhelming response: http://www.newsobserver.com/news/higher_education/story/1088730.html.
